Ok ladies, I have dated a LOT of dogs and a few dingos - not sure about dating a dork. He could have been a dork dressed as a dog though. I guess I should just get right to my point and share a bit about a dog and dingo I dated. The dog I dated was a good-looking fast talker. Always had a cell phone to his ear and I swear spoke in code language. He was always dressed well and had some sort of new trinket that he wanted to flash and talk about. He spoke about him (a lot). Rarely or never did he ask any questions about me or get to know me. He was ALWAYS late in picking me up but had great excuses - typically he drank more than he could handle. I finally dumped him because it dawned on me that he was totally self-serving and I wasn't even as interesting to him as one of his accessories - in fact, I was an accessory but not one he valued.

SO I dated a guy who oicked me up in his work van - at first not a problem but he was adverstising on his van that he was a "house" painter. Again - fine, excpet that ALL he talked about at dinner. Nothing else. So we went to order dinner and I ordered a particular wine and he insisted no - that it should be the wine HE wanted. I strongly suggested I wanted the type I wanted and I suggested to the waitress (in total embarrassment) that I did not want his choice. He still try to convince the waitress to come back with the red wine HE wanted me to drink. I excused myself and went to the bathroom - ordered a cab and went home. YES - perhaps I could have been a dog but he was very aggressive. When I returned home - a few minutes later I heard a noise and it was him banging on my door calling me for everything. I was renting at the time so the people around me could hear all this att 11:00 at night. He escalated to smashing a basement window to yeall more insults at me. This to me was a border line Dog and Dingo!
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is listen to your gut about guys who have to brag up front and talk so much about themselves AND feel the need to order for you as if you don't have a voice!
